We're Here To Help You With Collaborative Divorce During These Difficult Times...
Deciding whether to terminate your marriage can be difficult and stressful enough without a pandemic causing additional financial pressures on your household. If you are thinking about terminating your marriage, you may be wondering whether this is even possible during the COVID-19 pandemic given the current “stay at home” order. Although courts in Ontario are closed to non-emergency hearings, there are many things that can be done outside of the court to progress the termination of your marriage, i.e. negotiating, attending mediation, exchanging of financial documents, preparing the necessary pleadings to file, etc.
At Grant Lee Law we specialize in collaborative divorce with mutual respect, open communication, and information sharing. It is a mutually acceptable settlement that is a customized, respectful alternative to traditional adversarial divorce. Our Burlington attorneys are available to discuss and help you progress through this unprecedented time. We are here to answer any questions you may have regarding a collaborative divorce or dissolution, including, but not limited to, financial matters, custodial arrangements, and what you can expect from your Ontario courts.
In the interest of serving our clients safely we will provide our consultations by way of scheduled telephone conference calls or video conferencing. This will continue, with limited exceptions, until such time as the government’s recommendation of increased social distance is no longer in effect. Stay tuned for more updates and please call us with any questions you have.
